Motivation Sri Lanka is an International Non-Governmental Organization with its principals based in the UK. Our presence in Sri Lanka spans over ten years. Our work involves the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and we work closely with local partner organizations across the island.
Motivation’s philosophy is based on commitment towards ‘enhancing the quality of life of people with disabilities’ through the provision of appropriate mobility devices (wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs), professional services such as physiotherapy, economic empowerment (via job fairs, vocational training, job placements) and advocating basic human rights. This holistic programme is rolled out through local partners who benefit from our capacity development programmes which enable them to continue to serve the grassroots disabled community professionally.
A majority of mobility disabilities are spinal cord injuries and amputations resulting from war inflicted injuries, accidents, and medical conditions such as diabetes. Most of these cases are referred to our established Local Partner Organizations from area hospitals and clinics. |
