Every person with a disability has a unique set of needs. Professional Service provision such as physiotherapy, vocational training, and assistance in employment placement, can help a person access his rights, generate income and play an active role in family and community life.
Many people with disabilities in Sri Lanka are fitted with the inappropriate prosthesis, orthosis or wheelchair, which can hamper their mobility in their daily lives. By designing and manufacturing prescribed, low-cost products from wheelchairs to special seating and the supply of prosthesis and orthosis, which are in turn supplied island wide, we will thus be able to go full circle in making a difference in the lives of those with mobility disabilities.
The need for Motivation's work is apparent in every part of the world. Motivation has worked with local partners to improve the quality of life of people with mobility disabilities in Africa, Asia, Central America, and Eastern Europe .
No other organisation similarly deals with the comprehensive provision of suitable wheelchairs, which are designed specifically for the local environment coupled with associated training and education that must accompany their distribution if an individual is to achieve their maximum potential.
