People with disabilities are often unable to gain employment or continue with existing employment following a disability.

The economic strain is felt further when full time care has to be given to disabled people, especially if it is a member of the family.

Motivation therefore works with the Employers' Network on Disability of the Employers Federation of Ceylon, the ILO, local partner organizations and employers to provide disabled people with vocational skills training, job seeking skills training, job fairs and buddy training.

The Employment Placement Program maintains a database which aids in job placements through skills matching

Meanwhile, the Employers' Network on Disability of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon in collaboration with Motivation Charitable Trust hosted 5 Job Fairs for people with disabilities, over a period of time. These events were funded by USAID under the Disability Support Programme(DSP) of Motivation.

Applicants go through a preliminary training in Job Seeking Skills conducted by Motivation under their Employment Placement Programme, prior to the Job Fairs.
The 5th consecutive ‘Job Fair’ and the final one under the DSP, was held on the 29th of March 2007, at the Earl’s Regency Hotel in Kandy. It was extremely encouraging to note that out of the 58 people with disabilities who applied for jobs in various capacities, a total of 22 were offered jobs on the day. Most of the others were considered for employment at a later date.
Potential employers who graced the event included MAS Holdings, Central Finance, PC House, Brandix and Ceylinco Insurance, among many others.
Over 250 disabled job applicants have now received employment in various capacities.

Apart from the Job Fairs, Motivation places people with disabilities with employers via a skills matching database.
