The Tsunami Home of Hope Trust makes donation to Motivation :

The Tsunami Home of Hope Trust (THHT) Fund comprising the EXPOLANKA Group, SINO Group, TIME Group, Maga Group & PREMIER PACIFIC Group, successfully completed a housing project in Beruwela, where deserving recipients from tsunami affected areas such as Walathara and Beruwela, received houses.

Upon completing the project, THHT had a surplus of funds remaining in the trust.

On the recommendation of Mr. Tony de Livera(Managing Director of WINGS Logistics - Sri Lanka) which is part of the EXPOLANKA Group, along with the other trustees consisting of Mr. Bob Kundanmal(Sino Group), Mr. Laju Dhansigani(Time Group) & Capt. Kularatne(MAGA Group) decided to donate Rs.650,000/- to Motivation - Sri Lanka, in order to assist them with their excellent work in helping to improve the quality of the lives of people with disabilities.

Motivation Charitable Trust is an International NGO operating in Sri Lanka for over ten years. Motivation’s work involves the rehabilitation of people with mobility disabilities and is closely linked with grassroots level local partner organizations across the island. Motivation is committed to enhancing the quality of life of disabled people by providing them with appropriate mobility devices and professional services that include physiotherapy, training, economic empowerment and advocacy of their basic human rights.

The donation would go into the 'Motivation Wheelchair/Mobility Fund' which has been set up to assist those who require mobility aides such as wheelchairs and artificial limbs. It has been discovered that most recipients of such devices cannot afford to pay for them and the fund will act as a means of meeting these costs.
