Centre for Handicapped - Kandy

The present “Centre for Handicapped” has a long history which dates back to 1971. It was initially called the “Kandy Orthopaedic workshop”. As funding ceased in 1983 the production of limbs and orthopaedic appliances began to decline. It was during this time that the Colombo Friend-in-Need Society (CFINS) emerged to share its experience and expertise in this field, and a new CFH emerged in Digana, Kandy.

The centre provides prosthesis, orthosis and wheelchairs throughout the Kandy district and provides rehabilitation, physiotherapy and follow up care to patients as well.
